According to the 2024 EV Market Outlook released by EV Volumes, global sales of battery electric vehicles (BEVs) and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) reached a combined 17.79 million units in 2024—marking a 25% year-on-year increase. BEVs and PHEVs together accounted for 20.1% of the global passenger vehicle market, underscoring the rapid acceleration of electrification worldwide.
