Global EV Market Reaches 4.43 Million Units in Q1 2025, BYD Maintains Lead, Geely Rises to Second

According to the latest report from EV-volumes, global sales of electric vehicles (xEVs: BEVs, PHEVs, and FCEVs) in the first quarter (Q1) of 2025 reached 4.43 million units, representing a year-on-year increase of 35%. BEV (Battery Electric Vehicle) sales rose to 2.86 million units, a 37% increase from the same period last year, while PHEV (Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle) sales climbed to 1.57 million units, marking a 30% rise.
