The overall rare-earth market declined from mid-March to late March 2024. Neodymium for magnets has not been able to stop falling amid the awareness that sales of electric vehicles (EVs) have run their course. Market participants are half resigned to the fact that "there is unlikely to be any movement unless some good development emerges," said a senior executive at a mid-sized trading company that handles rare earths for China and other markets.
