Since September 12, the LME nickel price has been on an upward trend, appearing to aim once again for the $17,000 mark. This movement was fueled by market optimism over the “large-scale economic measures” announced by China after September 24. LME copper, for instance, surpassed $10,000 again, causing a stir in the market. However, it is widely understood that these measures are merely a “blank shot,” with no real expectation of substantial improvement in the Chinese economy.
