On the 9th, the Kanto Tetsugen’s October export tender resulted in a larger-than-expected increase, with a rise of ¥2,960 per ton compared to September, reaching ¥45,680 (H2 FAS). In response, Tokyo Steel announced in the evening of the same day that it would raise the scrap prices for all grades across all factories by ¥500 to ¥3,000 per ton. The Utsunomiya plant, in particular, implemented a sharp increase of ¥3,000 per ton, with H2 reaching ¥41,500, in line with their earlier declaration to exceed the export prices at the bay area.
