Fornnax Technology Pvt. Ltd. has inaugurated one of the world's largest New Product Development (NPD) Centres and Demonstration Plants at its 12 acres of facility located about 30 km from Kandla Port in Gujarat, India, states Fornnax’s official document. It might be noted here that the centre is established to strengthen the global position of Fornnax in the recycling machinery sector and supports the company's vision for 2030 to be a leading solutions provider in recycling.
The facility has been designed to enable the development, testing, and validation of shredders and granulators under true operating conditions. According to the document, equipment at the centre can be tested for 3,000 to 15,000 operating hours and daily operations for 18–20 hours to enable Fornnax to assess performance, energy efficiency, durability, and downtime prior to commercial deployment.
According to Mr. Jignesh Kundariya, Director and CEO of Fornnax, setting up the NPD Centre drastically cuts down on product development time, from four to five years to about six to eight months as against conventional testing at customer sites.
The document further adds that the centre works within a structured Gate Review Process, covering stages such as market research, product design, prototyping, validation, and readiness for mass manufacturing. Besides product development, the demo plant enables customers to bring their own material for live testing, thus helping them assess equipment performance and potentially reduce investment risk. The facility will also support research and testing across several recycling streams, including E-waste, lithium-ion batteries, cables, municipal solid waste, tyres, and aluminium recycling.
