The rare earth market from mid- to late February 2026 saw selective gains. In response to a sharp rise in crude oil prices during China’s Lunar New Year holiday (February 15–23), light rare earths—where forward demand expectations had already been strong—posted significant increases after the holiday. Other elements, however, remained sluggish amid uncertainty surrounding end-user demand.
