Hanwa Co., Ltd. Signs Distribution Agreement with REPT BATTERO, Enters Stationary Energy Storage Market

On March 9, Hanwa Co., Ltd. announced that it had concluded a distribution agreement with Chinese battery manufacturer REPT BATTERO Energy Co., Ltd. (REPT). Under the agreement, Hanwa will act as a distributor of REPT products in Japan and will enter the stationary energy storage market.

REPT BATTERO Energy Co., Ltd. is a Tier 1 battery manufacturer under Tsingshan Holding Group, a Chinese stainless-steel producer. The company manufactures lithium-ion battery cells, modules, and energy storage systems (ESS). In the ESS segment, REPT has recorded significant shipment volumes and has expanded its sales globally, supported by research and development activities and competitive pricing.

Hanwa Co., Ltd. has maintained a long-standing cooperative relationship with Tsingshan Holding Group and has jointly developed multiple joint ventures in the stainless steel, carbon steel, and battery materials sectors. The latest agreement is based on this relationship, and Hanwa said it aims to address growing demand for energy storage driven by the expansion of renewable energy adoption and contribute to the development of Japan’s energy infrastructure.
