A fire broke out at the yard of a zappin dealer, Nansei in Ichikawa, Chiba on Christmas day last year. The company had sold collected ferrous scrap on an auction, but it is said that its biggest buyer was a major domestic ferrous scrap dealer. Even in the domestic market, Chinese dealers have increased its own spread while domestic dealers have gone into a decline.
