Aluminum Japan Premium: Q4 Negotiations Start at $185, a 7.6% Increase

Negotiations for the Japan premium on aluminum ingots for the October-December quarter have started with an initial offer of $185 per ton. The previous quarter (July-September) settled at $172 per ton, reflecting an approximately 7.6% increase. In the last round, buyers resisted the sellers’ significant price hike, and the final settlement was delayed into July. This time, too, negotiations are expected to be difficult.
