The sound of October’s approach can already be heard in the stainless-steel scrap market.
For Ni-based (304 series) scrap, continuous price cuts between mid-July and September have stabilized the actual market prices between 170 to 180 yen per kilogram. Meanwhile, manufacturers like JSP and Nippon Steel Stainless are buying at around 190 yen per kilogram.
