What's LABC2025
As the global energy transition accelerates, the lead-acid battery supply chain is evolving rapidly. The ongoing energy crisis in Europe and export restrictions in the U.S. have prompted a shift of production capacity to Southeast Asia.
Vietnam’s fast-growing motorcycle market has fueled significant expansion in the local battery industry. With major Chinese manufacturers establishing production bases, Vietnam has become a key exporter, accounting for 23.29% of U.S. imports in 2024.
However, domestic lead smelting capacity remains limited, forcing Vietnam to import 100,000–150,000 metric tons of lead ingots annually.
