China’s Steel Exports Surge, Raising Global Concerns

Due to a prolonged downturn in China’s domestic real estate market and declining steel demand, Chinese steel manufacturers, burdened with excessive production capacity, have been forced to shift toward international markets. In September, China’s steel exports reached 10.15 million tons, marking an eight-year high and a 25.9% increase year-on-year. However, the price of exported steel dropped by 11.62% compared to the previous year.
