TSMC Reports U.S. Chip Factory Achieves Higher Yield Than Taiwan Counterparts

On October 25, the Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC), headquartered in Taiwan, has announced a significant milestone at its Arizona chip factory, reporting that the plant has achieved a breakthrough in yield rates for early-stage chip production. This factory, TSMC’s first in the United States, has reported yield rates for initial production runs that exceed those of comparable-scale plants in Taiwan, marking a pivotal moment in U.S. chip manufacturing, initially hindered by delays and labor issues.
