Telic is a clean and undamaged aluminum boring and turning product (cuttings, turnings) made of two or more alloys. ULTRA Telic registered with MIRU is free of more than 3% particulates, dirt, free iron, oil, moisture, and other non-metallic substances when passed through a 20 mesh sieve. Materials with more than 10% iron content, free magnesium, stainless steel, or highly flammable cutting compounds are not considered good. To prevent disputes, materials must be sold with a clear maximum concentration of zinc, tin, and magnesium.

Telic is obtained primarily from the machining of aluminum sheets, rods, and bars. During such processing, large amounts of shavings are generated. These shavings, or telics, are often clean and contain few contaminants, making them a valuable resource for the recycling industry.
