Toward the realization of carbon neutrality by 2050, the automotive sector is entering a period of significant transition. As electrification accelerates and electric vehicles replace traditional internal combustion engine vehicles, the function and value of steel materials are also being redefined.
Battery packs, which deliver power to vehicle traction motors, represent a core element of EV architecture. This talk highlights effective technologies and implementation strategies for developing steel-based battery packs that simultaneously satisfy requirements for sustainability, safety, and cost competitiveness.
2050年のカーボンニュートラルの実現にむけて、自動車産業も大きな転換期を迎えています。また、電動化の進展により、従来の内燃機関車両から電気自動車への伴い鉄鋼材料の役割も変化しています。なかでも、走行用モーターへ電気を供給する電池パックは重要なパーツであり、本報では、環境性、安全性、経済性を考慮した鋼製電池パックを実現するために有効な技術について紹介します。
Profile
Mr. Yamamoto joined the former Nisshin Steel Co., Ltd., where he worked in the R&D division for surface-treated steel sheets and stainless steel, engaging in materials development for molten carbonate fuel cells (MCFCs). He subsequently contributed to market development for surface-treated steel products, including ternary alloy-coated steel sheets (Zn-Al-Mg), in both Japan and China, and served as Director of Product Engineering. He is currently involved in development activities aimed at applying steel materials to components for automotive battery systems.
旧日新製鋼株式会社に入社し、表面処理鋼板およびステンレス鋼の研究部門にて、溶融炭酸塩型燃料電池用の材料開発に従事。その後、日本および中国での三元系(Zn-Al-Mg)めっき鋼板などの表面処理鋼板の市場開拓に携わり、商品技術部長を歴任。現在、車載用電池部材への鋼材適用に向けた開発業務に従事。
