Profile:
After graduating with a Master’s in Molecular Engineering from Kyoto University in 1988, he began his career at the Government Industrial Research Institute, Osaka (now AIST), specializing in the research of functional materials for lithium-ion batteries.
Following a 2014 secondment to a major electronics firm’s corporate laboratory, he transitioned into executive leadership at AIST. He held key roles including Director of Technology Marketing and Deputy Director-General of the Innovation Strategy Headquarters, eventually serving as the Director of AIST Kansai starting in 2021. As of 2025, he serves as an Advisor to the Japan Electrical Safety & Environment Technology Laboratories (JET). Furthermore, he contributes his expertise to the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) as a member of the Council for the Strategy on Battery Industry.
1988年京都大学工学研究科分子工学専攻修士修了、工技院 大阪工業技術試験所（現 産総研）入所。リチウムイオン電池機能材料の研究に従事。
2014年総合電機メーカーコーポレート研へ出向。2017年産総研イノベーション推進本部 技術マーケティング室長、2020年 副本部長を経て、2021年 産総研関西センター所長。2025年より電気安全環境研究所 顧問。経済産業省蓄電池産業戦略推進会議メンバーとしても活動中。
