The victory in the prestigious contest confirms the effectiveness of environment-oriented activities of the enterprise and demonstrates public recognition of its achievements in creating safe production conditions.
Preservation of the environment for future generations is an integral part of the corporate culture and business operations of Rosneft. The company aims to achieve leadership positions in ensuring the eco-friendliness of its production and minimizing the environmental impact. The Syzran Refinery is implementing a set of measures to reduce the technogenic impact on the environment.
The enterprise is upgrading its production processes by introducing low-waste and resource-saving technologies and developing environment-oriented facilities, including those that minimize water intake from natural sources and maximize the use of recycled water.
The refinery has been replenishing the river bio resources for more than a decade. In 2020, about 108,000 fry of red-listed sterlet were released into the waters of the Volga River.
The enterprise also performs environmental monitoring. Air tests are carried out both under the conditions of an accredited environmental laboratory and by means of automated fixed stations. A mobile laboratory works for the operational control at the Syzran Refinery.
Among the projects implemented to improve pipeline reliability is a system for monitoring the tightness of pipelines. The technology ensures that the location of a potential leak is detected with a high degree of accuracy and a signal is given to stop moving petroleum products.
Employees of the Syzran Refinery take an active part in implementing environmental projects. They participate in campaigns to clean the banks of rivers and springs of household rubbish on a regular basis. In addition, the refinery collects municipal solid waste, such as used paper, plastic and waste batteries, and is introducing elements of the green office system. Employees of the Syzran Refinery carry out green festivals and environment-related creative contests, thus engaging Syzran citizens.
