The objective of this collaboration is to collectively test and deploy technical solutions for developing standalone complexes for industrial facilities in the oil and gas industry — this partnership being expected to include joint R&D activities and research, as well as pilot-construction and technological activities in designing robotic arms — something Gazprom Neft plans to utilise throughout its industrial and retail assets.

In line with its Digital Transformation Strategy, Gazprom Neft is developing more than 250 scenarios for using robots throughout its hydrocarbon-production facilities, as well as in petroleum-products manufacturing and logistics. Pilot areas include robotising special-purpose machinery for use in groundworks; automating core-sample storage; oil-pipeline diagnostics; developing mechanised systems for shipping oil and finished products; and using robots at warehousing facilities, and in logistics.

Fanuc is an international corporation, established in Japan in 1956. The company is a leading producer of production-automation equipment, having installed more than 4.4 million pieces of CNC (computerised numerical control) equipment, and 680,000 robots, throughout various countries worldwide.
