June 2024 Analysis of Crude Lead Export Statistics Significant Increase Return to the highest level since last December

In terms of volume, the single month of June saw an increase of 4,620 tons, m/m 126%, y/y 103%, while the total for January-June was 23,026 tons, y/y 106%. By major export destination, shipments to South Korea remained flat at 1036 tons, 100% m/m, 152% y/y, and 5234 tons, 143% y/y for the January-June period. Exports to Taiwan increased for the first time in four months to 871 tons, 122% m/m, 88% y/y, for a January-June total of 5121 tons, 54% y/y, The slump in the current fiscal year has been remarkable. Shipments to Vietnam were 0 tons for the third consecutive month, and those to Thailand decreased for the second consecutive month to 182 tons, m/m 87%, y/y 31%, for a total of 1313 tons, y/y 59% in January-June; those to India increased to 1855 tons (of which 1377 tons were in Brion), m/m 108%, y/y 165%, for a total of 10,066 tons, y/y 502% in January-June. Total for January-June: 10,066 tons, y/y502%.The shipment to Indonesia was 0 tons for the 17th consecutive month, and "Others" totaled 676 tons. Most of the cargo was destined for China. Comparing the year-to-date total to the previous year, while Korea and India showed a large increase, other destinations continued to show large decreases across the board (Table 1, Graph 1).
