Export Permit Granted for Lead Battery Scrap!? — What's the Truth behind Rumors?

There are rumors circulating in the lead industry that the government has granted export permit of lead battery scrap. This happened right before the new framework of the Basel Convention, which will include all e-waste as regulated items whether they are hazardous or not, takes effect on January 1, 2025. Are there any changes of the government’s attitude? If the rumors are true? If not, this could change the distribution structure of lead battery scrap and have a direct impact on market prices. I did the below investigation trying to verify the truth behind the rumors. (* To put it simply, it was confirmed at a review meeting in June of this year that permission has been granted for Korea.) →https://www.env.go.jp/press/press_03875.html
