Profile：

Rune Nordgaard from Norway.

Before joining FREYR Battery Japan as the Manager Director, I worked for more than 20 years in Japan, mainly in the Japanese automotive and electronic industry for Norwegian’s global companies building up their business in Japan. My education is Mechatronic Engineer as in automation and sensor technology.

FREYR Battery Norway plan to build 200GWh of Lithium-ion battery cell production capacity in Norway and US by 2030, first factory starts testing in Q1 2023.

FREYR Battery Japan is established to support the build-up of these factories as we have very close partnership with Lithium-ion battery cell technology holders, suppliers, and consultants in Japan. In addition, we have established a Lab in Japan for testing of materials to take advantage of the battery value chain developed in Japan since the first rechargeable lithium-ion battery cells was made in Japan. FREYR Battery is a partner driven company, therefor having a close relationship to high quality support is essential for our success.

To for fill the Paris Agreement, to limit global warming to well below 2 degrees Celsius, it is essential we change the global energy production from fossil fuel driven to CO₂ free driven, and through FREYR I am excited to work on this change and to support the acceleration to a low carbon society.
