Japan's lithium carbonate imports in 2022 exceeded 24,000 tons, surpassing the previous highest annual import volume in 2019. However, during the past year, the volume of imports from Chile, which had been the largest importer, decreased, and instead, imports from China, which has a higher unit price than Chile, increased significantly.
