Presentation Title:

“The Rapid Growth of Japan’s Used Car Exports and the Market Forces Behind It (Tentative Title)”

 

Presentation Summary:

This presentation will explore why Japanese used cars are in high demand around the world. It will highlight Japan’s competitive edge over other exporting countries—such as the value of "Made in Japan" and "Used in Japan" products—and explain how Japan’s well-developed recycling infrastructure underpins the expansion of the used vehicle export market.

 

Speaker Profile:

Mr. Nakao graduated from Meiji University in January 1986 and joined Arai Shoji Co., Ltd..

In January 2000, he was appointed Executive Officer of the company's Auction Division.

 

In April 2001, he founded ING Communication Co., Ltd., and in September of the same year, became President and CEO following the company’s integration into the Aucnet Group.

 

In October 2003, he established ING-PLUS Co., Ltd. and served as its President.

In October 2008, ING-PLUS merged with Sogo-sha Co., Ltd. to form SOWING Co., Ltd., where he continued as President and CEO.

He stepped down from the role in September 2019.

 

In November 2019, he founded the Automobile Distribution Market Reserch Institute (ADMRI), a certified non-profit organization (NPO), and assumed the role of Chairman, a position he currently holds.
