Aluminum alloy maker is sluggish, low demand form auto and steel

A major Japanese aluminum alloy maker said that the Covid-19 crisis caused the aluminum alloy plant operation was -20% in March, -40% in April and -60% to -70% in May respectively. In other words, May operation rate is as low as 30 to 40%. This applies to almost all aluminum alloy manufacturers. Many manufacturers are reluctant to hold low rate operation supported by employment adjustment subsidy.
